How can you make a difference?
UNICEF GSSC is looking for a dynamic and experienced Blue Prism consultant who will develop automation solutions, while simultaneously providing guidance and knowledge-sharing in a hands-on manner. This collaboration will focus on solving real-world automation challenges, ensuring that best practices are established and that the team gains practical experience by working directly on business-critical processes. Additionally, the consultant will help us integrate Microsoft solutions such as Azure and Power Platform into our automation toolkit, enhancing our ability to build scalable, efficient and modernized automation solutions.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Business Innovation and Support (BIS) team on automating selected business processes, ensuring hands-on learning through practical development.
- Guide team members in best practices for integrating Blue Prism with Power Platform and Azure.
- Provide recommendations and technical insights on improving automation efficiency and scalability.
- Support the team in setting up version control, documentation, and process standardization.
- Assist in planning and executing the transition from on-premises to cloud-based Blue Prism.
- Develop reusable automation components and templates to streamline future projects.
- Create a strategic roadmap for transitioning from on-premises Blue Prism to a cloud-based infrastructure. Transform our team into a skilled unit of independent developers capable of developing and managing automation solutions using Blue Prism, Power Platform and Azure.
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
- Completed secondary education (i.e. high school diploma) is required.
- Relevant certificates in Microsoft, Blue Prism, automation-related and other Information Systems Management products are an asset.
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience in the following tools and technologies are required
- Extensive expertise in Blue Prism setup, configuration, and process automation.
- Proven experience integrating Microsoft Azure and Power Platform.
- Competence in developing and managing Git-based version control systems (preferably in Azure DevOps).
- Hands-on experience automating enterprise applications and executing API integrations
- Solid experience in automating document processing and invoice handling.
- Knowledge of refactoring legacy automation solutions to Blue Prism standards.
- Ability to plan and manage cloud migrations from on-premises Blue Prism to cloud infrastructure.
- Experience providing structured training, documentation, and knowledge transfer to internal teams.
- Proficiency in creating reusable automation templates and comprehensive documentation
- Skill in guiding team development, enhancing process standardization, and establishing best practices in automation workflows and business communications.
- Fluency in English (Oral and Written) is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage). Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment. It does not apply to consultants who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their consultancy contracts.
